Here is a selection of possible topics and solutions for couples therapy. The topics are by no means complete, as concerns are very diverse and we tackle them individually together.

Process of couples therapy

Introductory talk

The purpose of the introductory meeting is to get a personal impression of each other. We discuss what drives you to seek support and your expectations of the couples therapy process.

Number of sessions

The number of sessions varies depending on the issues the couple is having and how quickly they are developing. Couples therapy can consist of a few sessions or take place over a longer period of time. Some couples come only a few times to solve specific problems, while others come regularly for months or even years. It is important to emphasize that couples therapy is not a quick fix for relationship problems and it takes time and work to achieve positive results.

Session 1

We discuss your relationship history and goals for the couples therapy process. These goals can change and be adjusted in the course of the process.

Session 2-6

I support you in recognizing and dissolving negative relationship patterns and conflict dynamics. There is homework for between sessions and individual sessions are done.

Session 6-10

Development and consolidation of positive and dynamics at eye level, mutual understanding and appreciative communication.

Solutions

How can we actively shape and maintain our relationship? 

Recognizing and communicating individual and common needs, setting and respecting boundaries, conscious time management, reflecting on and changing undesirable behavioral patterns.

How can we (re)ignite or increase passion and lightness? 

Establish intimacy. Communicate desires and fantasies.

How can we talk to each other respectfully and at eye level? 

Reflect on and change communication patterns. Resolve conflicts without blame or accusations. Achieve mutual understanding and acceptance.

How can we find each other again? 

Build trust, create closeness and at the same time give space. Reflect on and change entrenched perspectives and behavioral patterns. Actively shape the relationship.
