My partner does not want to take part in couples therapy. Can I do couples therapy alone? The willingness to do relationship coaching should always be voluntary on the part of both partners. If your partner is not (yet) ready for this, I recommend starting with relationship coaching on your own. You can find more information about one-on-one coaching here. In my experience, it can have a positive impact on relationship dynamics when part of the couple is already with actively deals with the challenges of the relationship. It's also not a problem to bring your partner in during the process.

How many coaching sessions do I need? This depends on the topic you want to address in the coaching. For example, if you need support with a decision or want to resolve a minor conflict, 1-2 coaching sessions could be enough. On the other hand, overcoming a personal crisis or solving serious conflicts in a relationship usually requires several sessions - but you can decide this freely.

What is the difference between coaching and psychotherapy?Coaching is not psychotherapy and cannot replace psychotherapy. While coaching takes a resource- and solution-oriented approach to overcoming everyday challenges, psychotherapy is more about understanding how and why certain problems arose in the past and what impact they have on the here and now.< /p> In severe mental crises or emergencies, please contact the telephone counseling service (0800/111 0 111) or call 112.
